When I whined about Free Realms a while back I mentioned my original intention to draw a fork and a donkey, symbolically telling the game to "eat my ass". When I read that Turbine had partnered with SuperRewards (a company that monetizes lead generation) I wrinkled my nose. But hey, if someone wants to opt into the system to get some extra Turbine Points, **shrugs** that's their decision. As I dug deeper into the story I found reports that members of the forum visiting the new SuperRewards backed "Offer Wall" were having their email sent off to the company without their direct approval, I openly grumbled. Then I read that some members had already seen an increase in spam and malware infections, I thought... now that's reason to tell a company to eat your ass.

The news post announcing Turbine's partnership with SuperRewards has since disappeared from the DDO site. And the Offer Wall has also been removed while Turbine "investigates" the players' claims. As this situation plays out I'm sure we'll hear more about it. But it seems like a push to generate more income from a "Free To Play" game, could come back to haunt Turbine in a significant way.
Any guesses as to what a Donkey tastes like?
And no "probably tastes like ass", that joke ship has already sailed. **grins**
