Microsoft has indeed filed a patent for "hand-held devic(s) having a body with a pressure-sensitive surface". So it's not really limited to controllers. And the part about being able to identify a user is also true. The device would register pressure signatures across its surface and use that information to identify the user. [more info] Cool idea... if you trust Microsoft not to get all up in your business. Which, I don't.
So, why does it look like I'm moving in the comic? Well, because I am. Kind of. I'm moving all of my stuff out of my office, and all of the stuff out of theKid's bedroom and toy room. Why? You might be asking yourself. The answer is simple, if painful, the owners of the house are having it re-carpeted so they can kick us out next year and put this house on the market. So I have to get all our stuff out of the way so the carpet guys can do their job. I worked most of the day yesterday getting out everything I could, while wrangling a 4 year old, doing a comic, doing a daily doodle, and whining (apparently).
The main concern now, as I'm only 3 hours away from the carpet guys arriving, is that Taks hurt her ankle at derby last night and is currently at the hospital getting x-rays instead of being here to help me get everything moves. So if you live near Denver dot dot dot.
No seriously, I had to leave the comic unfinished so I can get the rest of this re-locating done. Hope you understand.
"Atomic Robo" and "Hellboy" are among the handful of un-sponsored Daily Doodles. If you're interested in handing over a little money ($40/ea.), I'm more than willing to finish the piece, send you a one-of-a-kind print, give you access to the GU Fancast, and credit you in a "sponsored by" tag on the finished image. Contact me for details.
