Last night I read an article about a Football player that made it into the NFL. A year later he was out of the league. The primary scapegoat? Videogame Addiction. [more info]
Now, I admit to having a bit of a problem writing about this issue. You see, I'm sympathetic to the idea of being completely consumed by a game. But reading his story, it seemed to me that if it was not Call of Duty, he would have been addicted to something else. Sure it was the focus; but, in my opinion, the videogame wasn't the problem.
I know folks aren't going to agree with me and that's fine. I'll just back away from the thread and leave it to you guys to discuss amongst yourselves.
In order to keep the thread under a relative amount of control, please refrain from responding directly to posts (including mine). Just post your own opinion, let it stand on its own legs and move on. I'd really rather not have to switch into moderator mode.
