Steam's Summer Sale has begun and I'm already ridiculously concerned for my wallet. Portal 2 for $5? Seriously? How am I supposed to contend with that? Rhetorical question really. Too broke to be able to buy any of it. Doesn't stop from window shopping though, that's for sure.
So, if you've been paying attention, you've noticed my wrestling with the idea of a new comic layout. I like the 3 panel layout to be sure. But several things have been weighing on my mind since I gave it a whirl. Primarily there's a question of time. Each of those three panels were rendered with the same eye toward the artwork that a single panel was. In essence it took me three times longer. That's a real concern. That's a lot of work.
To maintain the three panels I would absolutely have to simplify and streamline the work. Ughh. The artwork is something I'm really proud of. If I'm going to simplify and streamline it should be a NEW comic. If I'm going to do a NEW comic I might as well save myself the stress and just do the 3 panels there. Because really... the three panels was really causing issues making an archive that supported the various GU formats.
The next big issue was, for all the changes in format that have occurred, the comic has always been (for the most part) single panel. I think I'd prefer it to remain that way. mEH. we'll see how it goes.
Portal 2 for $5 though...
