Dungeons & Dragons: "Three Feet"
Posted: Friday August 17th, 2012 by

I'm putting my guys through the paces of a particularly frustrating tower. And while the rest of the party ran off to inspect a set of magically unfolding stairs, our resident striker, bad ass crit-failed a long jump attempt over a pit filled with a massive Azure Jelly. It should probably be noted that he had already successfully jumped this trap once.

As an unapologetic nerd, I love playing D&D. So I run a campaign on Thursday nights in a setting of my own making. On this particular night they found themselves dealing with the rigors tower that belonged to a wizard who apparently did not want anyone snooping around his stuff. So every door, pedestal, staircase, room, etc is a puzzle and/or trap. So their encounters are more about using their brains rather than their brawn. Unfortunately, sometimes they miss a key roll and brawn is the only option. That's when you find yourself standing waist deep in an Azure Jelly.

I mentioned last month that "the next three months of advertising payments [were] going to be horrible". I looked again this morning and found that the month after those three is going to be bad as well. So I think I'm officially done with my ad agency. I'm going to contact them first thing monday and see what the process is for terminating our contract.

Now, you guys said you didn't want GU to go anywhere. If that really is the case, I'm going to have to lean on you guys until I get the advertising figured out. That means I'm going to need to guys to pitch in. I really hate to ask you for your money, but that's pretty much what this comes down to. No money, no comic. I can't justify it and need to move on.

That being said, we're currently 52% of the way to meeting this month's needs (including the advertising payment). I've got a lot of people asking for commissions, but we're going to need some donations as well, I think. If you can, here are the links to help out.

UPDATE: If you've donated more than $50, and would like to consider a commission instead, please feel free to contact me so we can get it figured out.

UPDATE 2: Money over the needed amount will be applied to next month's need. Thank you all.
