The Zapper!: "Steady March"
Posted: Friday January 4th, 2013 by

THQ has been fighting against the zapper since 2009. Now they've been delisted from the NASDAQ while they use bankruptcy to get their house back in order. [more info]

In my mind THQ's slide started with the absolute failure of the uDraw. But that doesn't actually seem to be the case. Mediocre titles and a slumping economy started the process a full year earlier. It's kind of a shame to see it happen, but it's astonishing how long this has been going on. Most of the other companies and games we see hit the zapper do so quickly, without much warning.

You'll note, I hope, that THQ still hasn't hit the zapper in the comic. I'm curious to see if the company can come back out the other side of this stronger than they went in. It's happened before. I don't think the idea of the company going Independent is a bad one.

Thoughts?

Note: Right now, the entire collection of Steam accessible THQ games is available for $24.99 as part of their Holiday Sale. Usual Price: $207.28
