Minecraft: "Experience"

I recently caught the Minecraft bug again. Everything I had done before disappeared in a computer crash. All the hours I put into it. Gone. And, when I spawned into this new world, I was in the middle of a desert. No trees. No dirt. I ran around looking for any resource and found none. I hit water before the monsters got to me. I swam until I hit an island. I call it Ten Trees... because that's what I started with. I've got a mini castle, and a small farm. A mining operation. Pigs, cows, sheep, and chickens. But nothing big. I haven't started goofing around with redstone... yet. But, I have been tinkering with a lighthouse in creative mode.
The first time I played Minecraft, I started at water's edge surrounded by a massive forest. When I outgrew my tiny shack, I ran to a nearby mountain and basically leveled it. By the end I had all manner of giant machines, and train rails out to all corners of my world. I never did make a redstone elevator though. Ladders are good enough for me. And, I guess that's my MO in Minecraft. I've never been one to build huge castles loaded with gimmicks. I'm content to build a utilitarian stronghold, stockpiling resources, and exploring the world.
Nothing else has really held my attention lately. So, I hope you guys don't mind a few Minecraft comics here and there.
