I hate stumbling across news like this. I know it's only confirmed that Uwe Boll is READING a Metal Gear Solid movie script. But, even THAT is too close for my comfort.

I've got a history of not being able to tolerate Uwe Boll's "efforts" in film. And, where I'm not really a Metal Gear fan boy, any game-to-movie projects that fall into that mans hands is a tragedy.
After the absolute mangling of House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, and now BloodRayne, I can't imagine why anyone would turn over their games to this guys interpretations. And, it's obviously not money or cast that's hindering him. The cast of BloodRayne was pretty strong. But, I guess, without a good director, even accomplished actors like Ben Kingsley can fail to live up to their star power.
And money... well... my understanding of the situation is that in Germany, there's this nifty tax loophole that makes investing in movies a no-lose situation. And, despite his failings as a director, if Boll is charismatic enough to keep securing movie rights to video game properties, then he HAS to be charismatic enough to get people to invest in his films. **shrugs**
At any rate, I hope folks will begin to wise up soon, and we won't see many more Uwe Boll projects. Please... cross your fingers with me.
