I have no idea what to say.
( July 3rd, 2009 )
Universal won a bidding war against four other film companies to acquire the movie rights to 'Asteroids' the classic Atari video game originally released in 1979. Matthew Lopez (Bedtime Stories, Race to Witch Mountain) will pen the script. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra) will produce.
Source: Hollywood Reporter [ more info ] Now, the older gamers in the crowd might remember Asteroids. The plot was so engaging it's a wonder the video game industry ever managed to escape it's shadow. Set in the deepest reaches of space, you are the pilot of a sophisticated starship beset by alien vessels and massive rock structures. Your only saving grave is a high tech phaser array. Okay, enough of that snarky bullshit. There was no backstory. There was not plot at all. You were a triangle, shooting dots at jagged, roughly circular polygons that would break up into smaller, jagged, roughly circular polygons. I don't know what shocks me more. The fact that Universal would buy the movie rights to Asteroids or the fact that they had to beat out 3 other studios to get them. If you're curious or nostalgic, you can play a version of Asteroids here: http://www.play.vg/games/4-Asteroids.html [ discuss ] - replies ( 27 ) last post by: umoto

Prints For Sale Again!
( June 14th, 2009 )
I'm finally home, so I can sell comic prints again. I couldn't do it while I was away because... well... I couldn't really take all the equipment with me to print them. And if someone here printed them for me, I couldn't really sign them from 2000 miles away.
Enjoy! |
