NintenDogs: "Puppy Love"

People have been looking for DS's "killer app" since its launch, but all contenders have fallen without much notice. Nintendo may have finally stumbled onto the DS's "killer app" with this graphically superior, tamigachi-esque, wunder-game: NintenDogs.
It's only been out for a week now and it's already sold over two hundred fifty thousand copies. Hell, it's even inspired improved DS sales. [ more info ] The game is desperately cute. I mean, how could you not approve of being given a virtual puppy to play with?
I've seen what these types of games can do to people. The game is so demanding, and engrossing, that they'll actually forget their own names. I mean, the E3 booth for it was surrounded by drooling masses each shuffling forward to take their turn at the touch screen while the previous gamer reluctantly gave up his/her spot. I saw more than one of them filter back to the back of the throng, presumably getting back in "line" to play again.
I don't have a DS myself. But, if I did I'd probably own a copy of this game.
