The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: "43 Hours Played"
Posted: Friday November 18th, 2011 by

I saw an "article" on Cracked.Com today called "5 Personality Flaws Skyrim Forces You To Deal With" written by Robert Brockway. In the first personality flaw listed he mentions how the wide open world of Skyrim lets him do things he never would have asked for in a game like cooking, tanning leather, and catching butterflies. He claims watching him play Skyrim "is like reading one of those Family Circus cartoon maps if little Billy paused periodically to fire an arrow into the back of somebody's head to steal their magical boots. The only consistent theme linking my actions together is that none of them, not a one, advance the game in any meaningful way." And I immediately identified with his position. When I play games like Skyrim, I tend to loose myself in the nuances because those nuances are what makes the game truly great for me.

The comic is late as it is. So, I'll write more on this topic a bit later. Until I get back to it later this evening, I'd love to hear some of the things you Skyrim players have encountered that left you ooo-ing. Better yet, what have you encountered that made you start clicking things you hadn't thought to click before in the off chance there's something awesome you weren't expecting.
