Mr. Speculation: "But That's Just a Guess"

When Blizzard bought diablo3.com from a fansite [more info], people began speculating that they would soon announce Diablo 3. When they released info about this year's BlizzCon [more info], people immediately began speculating that they would announce Diablo 3 at the event. And when a splash screen was slathered across worldofwarcraft.com [more info], people began speculating that Blizzard was preparing to announce Diablo 3.
Now, most of you guys know that I don't like to use GU for rumor mongering. But, seriously, all the Diablo3 speculation is getting out of hand. If the game is going to be announced, Blizzard will do it in their own time. Whether that's this Saturday before their Worldwide Invitational in Paris is irrelevant. [more info]
Oh and Rob Pardo recently revealed that the original plan was to release WoW as a free-to-play MMO. [more info]
Naturally I assumed Blizzard would be announcing Diablo 3.
