Gaming News: "What's Good for the Pot"
Posted: Thursday July 3rd, 2008 by

Yesterday Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw from Zero Punctuation panned gaming webcomics.
Source: Zero Punctuation: Webcomics [ more info ]

I was asked if I was offended. To answer simply... uh no.

I make a living drawing comics that make fun of games, gamers, and gaming companies. Why would I be upset when someone returned the favor? I mean Yahtzee even pokes at himself in the video, effectively applying every fast-paced jab to himself as well. If you ask me it's a really good, traffic generating stunt. Every webcomic-er out there that was offended probably blasted Zero Punctuation and linked the video, driving traffic to Yahtzee's work.

And me? I'm linking you guys to the video because I thought it was freakin funny. It's exactly why I've trashed myself in my own comics. So yeah, good on Yahtzee.

If you don't know what Zero Punctuation is, please use this opportunity to acquaint yourself with Yahtzee's dead-pan, fast flow reviews/tirades. Sure its the same things we gaming webcomics say in a fraction of the words. But hey, when you're a British guy, living in Australia, trying desperately to ligitamize your existence in the house that webcomics built, you've got to squeeze in as much ranting as you can before we short-attention-spanned-gamers remember that we were watching boobie punching videos on youtube while grinding Elemental Waters to level up our third alt's Enchanting skill before we let ourselves get distracted by a fast-talking stream of simply animated negativity and return to letting ourselves be be distracted by a slow-moving repetition of simply animated time sinks offset by videos of girls thwacking each other in the sweater puppies.

See? I can construct a needlessly verbose run-on sentence that's only marginally relevant too.

Hello pot.
