The Life of Ted!: "Whatever Works"
Posted: Thursday December 11th, 2008 by

Apparently the folks at Bob's Crab Shack don't really get the point of employing a mascot. Or maybe they do and just have a screwed up sense of humor. Then again, it could just be that giant crab costumes aren't as widely available. I dunno, I've never really been in the whole Crab Shack mascot market.

On to the topic of the day...
Most of us have been there. For whatever reason we took a job that still makes us shake our heads in disbelief. I've never had a truly interesting job. The closest I got was, for a very short time, I was an overnight stockboy for Office Depot. I went in as the store was closing, me and one other guy were locked in for the night. After I got the hang of it, it wasn't a bad job. No micromanagement. Quiet. And there wasn't a question about what needed to be done before the doors were unlocked in the morning.

Kinda freaky huh? That they actually locked us in? Sure we could get out in an emergency, but doing so would set the alarm off. The police would show up, the fire department, and I'd say there'd be a pretty good chance we'd be fired.

So, how about you? What was the best/worst/weirdest job you ever had?
