Woody & Ted: "Pshh, Softy"

I like sports. That's a nearly all-inclusive statement. Meaning, if it's a sport, chances are I can watch it and enjoy it. Thus do we find ourselves watching the 2010 Winter Olympics. Specifically pairs figure skating. The level of skill required to do what those folks do makes my brain wrinkle. So watching it isn't a chore on any level for me.
Now I wouldn't go so far as to say I invest myself so fully into it that I would cry as a result. But, I was happy with the team that won gold. I'd watched their short program and listened to the story of their return to figure skating. So, being the last team to compete in the free skate I was (not literally) on the edge of my seat hoping for them to do well. There were some bobbles, but nothing so significant that it removed them from contention. They won gold bringing their life long dreams to fruition. It was exactly what I expect out of the Olympics.
On the surface this is an obvious case of transference. I've put Ted into my shoes. But why? Well, I thought it would be more funny. And to solidify my position that I can watch and enjoy almost any sport... I've been looking forward to watching Curling.
Oh and just in case you guys think I'm shirking my duties as a purveyor of gaming related content, here's some games from the official Vancouver Olympics site:
Soaring Sumi | Quatchi's Shootout Shutout | Miga Moves (DDR style rhythm game) | Operation Recycle (curling variant)
