Shark Week 2010: "Gauntlet"

Believe it or not, I've never played Gauntlet. So when Stormhaven gave me the suggesion for doing a SharkWeek/Gauntlet crossover, I didn't get it. See I was thinking Golden Axe (which I loved) and I didn't remember anyone every mentioning my sudden need for food as I tore through a seemingly endless stream of skeletons. I trusted her judgment enough to put it in the lineup, I figured I was just forgetting something. I didn't realize my error until I went to grab reference material to draw the comic and nothing I saw was like the side scrolling mayhem I expected.
If you're one of the other gamers out there that never played this game, let me attempt to explain. The game had a narrator voiced by a Texas Instruments speech chip. Said narrator continually announce the patently obvious until the appropriate player took the appropriate action. The comic is based on that concept. But it's a shark. So in our broken estimation no matter how much he eats (or in this case whom), he's always going to "need food badly".
Now I know the artwork is a tad brutal. But, I'll be damned if it wasn't fun to draw. Shark bites aren't pretty, you know? And I think I'm demonstrated a certain predilection in the past for drawing decapitated heads, severed arms, etc. I like horror movies; what can I say? Besides, these are just silly little doodles, no one was ACTUALLY injured... that you're aware of.
