Seems most people I know, that care about such things, are pretty hyped about the promise of Windows 10. The reviews have been incredibly positive for the most part. But, the biggest concern is indeed a HUGE concern for me. Because Windows 10 was developed with an eye toward mobile, it wants desperately to collect every tiny piece of data it can about you, your browsing habits, shopping, travel, etc. so that it can "customize your experience" to offer the very things you're interested in. Well, I don't want that. I've already given up on the attempts to keep it out of Google's hands. But, I absolutely do NOT want Microsoft's hands on it. Not that I trust Google any more or less. I can just control what Google sees easier. I can't do that on a machine that could see every key stroke because, well, it has to be able to see every keystroke in order to function.
I've already started reading up on the processes to cripple Windows 10's ability to collect. [more info] Hopefully, by the time my download day comes around, I'll be well versed on protecting the things I want to keep private.
What are your thoughts on all it?
