The Zapper!: "If Only it was Enough"
Posted: Thursday September 13th, 2007 by

After months of rumor, FASA, the development Studio that made the recent Shadowrun game, officially announced yesterday that they would be closing the studio and that half of the company's staff had already been absorbed by Microsoft Game Studios (MGS). In a forum post, FASA Studio Manager, Mitch Gitelman, assured readers that, despite the studio's closing, support of the game would continue.

I hate doing zapper comics about games I have not played. It leaves me to comment on a game based purely on the reviews of others. And I really hate announcing that an entire studio is closing because of what it likely means for some of the employees.

From what I've heard, the game did nothing with the Shadowrun license, that the game felt unfinished, and that it lacked depth and true replay value. I know the game had been patched since I read those criticisms. But, they sound like significant issues with the title. Stuff that would pretty much require an entire game overhaul.

So, if you're a Shadowrun player, please feel free to chime in and let us know what you think of the game. If you played both the tabletop and the FPS version, I implore you to tell us your thoughts/comparisons.
