Everquest: "The Return"
Posted: Wednesday March 27th, 2013 by

As of March 6th, long time friend of the comic Brad 'Aradune' McQuaid has officially returned to work as a game designer on Everquest. [more info] Everything he's working on is hush hush at the moment. But we do know that it's the original title, not EQ Next.

It's odd but this return of Brad to EQ leaves me feeling like there's more left to do with GU. Like I have to dig deep back to its actual roots before I'm really allowed to call it quits. As of right now nothing has changed. But there's this stirring hope that we can recapture some of the wonder and community that drew us into MMOs to begin with. Yeah, that's a lot to put on Brad's shoulders. But, I'm not expecting him to do it all himself. I'm expecting it to happen organically. A little nostalgia, a few more people coming back to remind the rest of the MMO space of what it USED to be like. I dunno. What I can say is this though...

I'm still not sure if I can handle returning to that UI. **grins**

(Just so you know Everquest is free to play.)
