Gaming News: "The PS3 Elite"

March 2nd, Sony filed for a Class II permissive Change with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to make changes to PS3, included in the request was the intention to add a new 80 Gig model.

I know I know, the comic indicates that Sony is following Microsoft's lead. This is intentionally inaccurate since Sony has accused Microsoft of that very thing. I figure with everyone taking pot shots at each other in this "console war" I could just toss whatever I wanted to out there and if it wasn't accurate... meh. It's not like they're paying any attention to accuracy themselves when they start spouting off.
To move away from my current hot-button issue and back into discussions that are at least moderately relevant:
It's unclear as to whether the 80Gig PS3 will be just a storage upgrade, if it will be a new model, if it will replace the lower end model (that's hasn't been moving out of stores well). If anyone finds additional information to this end, please link us.
